Description

As best we know, the Cheoy Lee 46 Trawler has the distinction of being the smallest double-deck production yacht ever built. She is described in the Power Boat Guide as a sturdy long range cruiser with an "upright" profile. She's constructed of a solid fiberglass displacement hull with a deep ballasted keel to protect the running gear. Her floor plan is arranged with the galley forward to starboard between the saloon and pilothouse. She has three staterooms on the lower level. Aft in the salon is a staircase leading down to a hallway which goes aft to the master stateroom with a centerline queen berth and forward to the stand-up engine room. A second staircase from the pilothouse descends to the midships VIP stateroom which is the same size as the aft cabin. Forward is a Vee berth. The interior is teak throughout. There is a day berth in the wheelhouse.

CHIMERA arrived in Maine late summer, 1998 after spending the previous ten years in Florida as a live-aboard. In the fall, she was taken into the shop at PENDLETON YACHT YARD, Dark Harbor, Maine for a major refit and upgrades. She was launched in the summer of 1999 and underwent extensive sea trials throughout the summer. She has cruised all along the Maine coast during the summer seasons since. During the winters, she has been in the shop for the installation of additional equipment and upgrades.

The list of refits and upgrades is extensive. Almost all of the equipment items listed above plus all of the electronics listed above and more plus all engine instrumentation are new 2000 - 2002. All the canvas, window curtains and matching cushions are new 2003. The inflatable and outboard are new 2001. She also comes equipped with ample tools and test equipment as well as an extensive stock of spare and replacement parts, etc.
